We completed a significant roof replacement and restoration project on a property in Sunnyside, Suffolk. The work involved carefully stripping the old roof while preserving the original tiles for reuse.

A new breathable membrane and precisely set battens were installed, maintaining the traditional character while updating the roof’s foundational weatherproofing.

We began by carefully removing all existing roof coverings and stacking the original tiles for reuse. This ensured that the roof retained its traditional character while allowing for a refreshed and secure installation.

A new breathable membrane was installed to provide effective ventilation within the roof space. New battens were then fixed and set out precisely to suit the gauge of the reclaimed tiles.

All fascias, soffits, and bargeboards were replaced throughout the property, giving the exterior a renewed and well-finished appearance. Lead cover flashings were installed before the verges were capped using a traditional Norfolk gable-style detail.

While scaffolding was in place, we coordinated new lime rendering to the chimney and gable faces, ensuring a cohesive finish. Once complete, the customer applied a breathable paint to both the render and the newly fitted timberwork.

With the main roof finished, we completed roofing works on the porches to match the main property. Following a thorough inspection, the scaffolding was removed, marking the successful completion of another high-quality roofing restoration.

This restoration successfully refreshed the entire exterior. Beyond the main roof installation, the replacement of fascias, soffits, and bargeboards, along with new lime rendering on the chimney, ensured a cohesive and polished appearance.
